Attorney Artaka L. Ross, Jr.
Artaka L. Ross is a litigator and advocate for individuals, families, and businesses facing serious legal matters across the civil and criminal spectrum. His practice is built around preparation, strategy, and direct advocacy for clients whose legal issues affect their families, freedom, property, finances, and future.
Attorney Ross focuses his practice on probate, estate and trust litigation, family law, criminal defense, guardianship, housing matters, and civil litigation. Whether representing a client in a contested probate matter, a custody dispute, an order of protection hearing, a criminal case, or a civil conflict, Attorney Ross approaches each matter with the same purpose: understand the facts, identify the legal pressure points, and build a strategy designed to protect the client’s interests.
Known for his courtroom-focused approach, Attorney Ross does not treat legal representation as paperwork alone. He understands that legal disputes often involve urgency, conflict, and real consequences. His clients turn to him when they need an attorney who is prepared to advocate, negotiate from a position of strength, and litigate when necessary.
Attorney Ross earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 2022. While at DePaul, he helped found the First Generation Law Student Organization, created to support students navigating law school without a traditional legal background. He also served on the Executive Board of the Black Law Students Association and participated in the Criminal Appeals Clinic, where he developed meaningful experience in appellate advocacy and criminal-law issues.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Attorney Ross graduated from Edwin Denby High School before attending Adrian College, where he began his legal career by serving as a prosecutor’s clerk for the City of Sylvania (OH).
His background, work ethic, and commitment to advocacy continue to shape the way he represents clients today. The mission is straightforward: provide serious representation for serious legal problems, and provide clients with “realness” at every step of the way.
